On Nov 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Shireen* shared with CPT that on the second night of her wedding Turkish warplanes bombed her village. She spent her honeymoon and the next two years moving between villages, escaping Turkish airstrikes. Four months ago, Turkish rockets killed her mother-in-law as she knelt on a mat for the early morning prayer. Shireen, though injured, managed to rescue her two boys from the rubble of the bombed house.
